Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 July 2026. This policy explains what information YouthLink SVG collects and how it is used.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the YouthLink SVG website and related services for opportunities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It covers seekers, organization account holders, and administrators who use the platform.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created when you use the platform, and limited technical data needed to run the service securely.
- Account and authentication details
- Profile information
- Organization information (for organization accounts)
- Opportunity listings and related moderation data
- Saved opportunities and reports
- Uploaded images (avatars, logos, cover images)
- Notification preferences
- Technical and security-related data from hosting and authentication providers
3. Account registration
When you create an account, we process the information needed to register and identify you on YouthLink SVG. This typically includes your email address, account role (for example seeker or organization), and profile details you choose to provide.
4. Google authentication
If you sign in with Google, authentication is handled through Supabase Auth and Google OAuth. Depending on the permissions granted, we may receive your Google account email address, name, and profile picture. Google’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to Google’s processing of your Google account data.
5. Email authentication
If you register or sign in with email and password, we store your email address and authentication credentials are managed by Supabase Auth. YouthLink SVG does not store your password in plaintext. Password reset and related security flows are handled through the authentication provider.
6. Saved opportunities
If you save an opportunity, we store that association with your account so you can return to it later. Saved items remain linked to your account until you remove them or your account is deleted.
7. Organization information
Organization accounts may provide organization name, type, description, contact email, phone or contact person details, website, address or location notes, verification-related notes, and an optional logo. Verification status and related review fields may also be stored for moderation.
8. Uploaded images
We store files you choose to upload — such as profile avatars, organization logos, and opportunity cover images — in Supabase Storage. Access rules are intended to limit who can write or delete those files.
9. Cookies
We use cookies (and similar technologies) needed for authentication sessions so you can stay signed in. These are used for core product function, not advertising tracking.
10. Analytics
YouthLink SVG does not currently use a third-party product analytics or advertising tracker (such as Google Analytics) in the application. Hosting and authentication providers may still process operational logs needed to deliver and secure the service.
11. How we use information
- Provide and maintain accounts, profiles, and organization portals
- Publish and moderate opportunity listings
- Enable saved opportunities and report review
- Verify organizations and review submitted content
- Secure the service, prevent abuse, and investigate issues
- Respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests
- Improve reliability and fix problems
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers on the site at this time.
12. Data security
Access to application data is controlled through authentication and database access rules. Session information is handled through secure browser cookies managed by our authentication stack. Uploaded images are stored with access controls intended to limit unauthorised changes.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We work to protect accounts and data, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-party services
We use trusted service providers to operate YouthLink SVG, including:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
- Google OAuth — if you choose Google sign-in
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery
These providers process data as needed to operate the service. Their own privacy policies also apply to their processing.
14. User rights
Depending on applicable law, you may be able to:
- Access or update profile and organization information in your account settings
- Remove uploaded avatars or logos where that feature is available
- Change notification preferences
- Request deletion of your account
- Ask questions about the personal data we hold about you
To make a privacy request, email youthlinksvg@gmail.com or visit our Contact page.
15. Account deletion
Seekers and organization accounts can delete their account from Settings (with confirmation and reauthentication). Administrator accounts cannot use self-service deletion. See the Account Deletion page for steps and what is removed versus anonymised.
When an account deletion request is completed, we delete or anonymise personal data we no longer need, subject to limits required for security, moderation, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
16. Children and age
YouthLink SVG is intended for young people seeking opportunities and for organizations that serve them. Opportunity listings may include age-related eligibility set by the posting organization. If you believe we have collected information from a child in a way that should not have occurred, contact us and we will review the request.
17. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of YouthLink SVG after an update means you should review the revised policy.
